Introduction
Hello, welcome to my Graded Unit
For my Graded Unit Portfolio I am showcasing my ability as a contemporary composer for a funded EP. Throughout the Graded Unit I will be displaying work completed throughout the year that demonstrate my written and oral communication, research, planning and referencing skills which are essential academic skills, which allow me to communicate project ideas in a professional setting
More importantly I will also be demonstrating my music skills such as my secure sense of music theory, my knowledge of composition/arrangement/songwriting techniques, my instrumental techniques, my mixing/mastering & recording techniques and my ability to work in a band setting or as a soloist, all of which allow me to create content with a high level of musicianship and creativity
Artefacts Descriptions
My first page contains my biggest project that I have completed this year. The work in this project contains the majority of studio work I have carried out this year which will be beneficial for producing a funded EP. The project also contains aspects of other things which I shall discuss further on the page
My second page contains work that I have completed for Song writing. I have included notated scores for these works and also theory practice that was carried out in order to notate these tracks. These works contain the majority of music; arrangement and lyrical works I completed this year. The work also contains evidence of research, investigation of musical genres and also mention music theory throughout.

My third and fourth pages contains practical and performance work that I recorded for my first study instrument and Live Performance . I have also included written work I have completed along with my practical work such as evaluations and programme notes.
The fifth page contains Improvisation work that I have completed throughout the year. Here I have analysed solos and attempted to apply the techniques to my own playing style in the improvisation videos I have provided.
The sixth page contains work from my Music Research Project. The work that is included on the page contain the majority of research I have conducted throughout the year and it displays my writing and referencing style.
Page seven contains work from Online Promotion where I have also included research which I have instead presented in several different professional projects rather than just writing essays. This work enabled me to use marketing skills for my Creative Project

Page nine contains work from Instrumental Instruction where I have learned basic teaching skills and safety standards / procedures that I already currently use in my career. This page contains some research which is highlighted in my presentation
And finally my last page contains work that was featured in my GU 1 where I showcase my Audio for Multimedia and Recording Techniques projects which were beneficial to me learning new skills which I used this year.

Sound Production/ Sound Design
I have ordered my pages from most "important" to least important, with the first couple of pages containing work that is most relevant to the production of an EP, where I have highlighted all the relevant skills I have used. My final page is relevant to the production of an EP but the work is from my previous GU and I wanted to show how much I have progressed and improved in the last year, so I left it for the final page in order for it to act as a reminder for the work I completed last year.
